NSIT Chapter of Teach For India was started in 2010.It is a nationwide movement that aims to narrow the educational gap in India by placing the country’s high potential college graduates and young professionals, of all academic majors and careers, in low-income schools to teach for two years. In the short-run, Teach For India will act as a source of dedicated, quality teachers who will help students achieve significant academic gains. In the long run, Teach For India believes that it will take a large movement of leaders to create sustainable educational reform in the country.
Its main aim is to create a movement of leaders who will eliminate inequity in education in India.
One of its recent achievement include
1.”The Economic Times’ Great Places To Work Survey (2011), Category: N.G.O.”
2.Campus Ambassadors 2010-11 awarded ‘Most Promising CAs- North India’. The team generated second highest number of applications from a single campus amongst all colleges in the country.
The Teach For India Fellowship is probably the most challenging and transformational experience of a Fellow’s life. As teachers in classrooms, Fellows have multiple opportunities to confront and tackle challenges, motivate diverse stakeholders to work hard toward a shared vision, create and adjust plans to move further towards their goals and gain the confidence they need to succeed.
