THE SHOPPING COMPLEX
Next time whenever you pay a call on the Shopping Centre in the NSIT Campus, your eyes wouldn’t give Babloo Stationery a miss. This shop, which is spacious enough to accommodate a crowd of students nerdy enough to give the canteens a miss to buy some stationery, offers all stationery items along with photocopy facility at normal rates. You would also appreciate the book shelves loaded with theory books to make your 4 years in NSIT memorable (:p). In addition to this, you’ll be glad to find that it has internet equipped PC’s with attached printers. Thus, if you ever forget about your project report submission with the deadline a couple of hours away, keep calm and head towards Babloo Stationery. Your professor would award you marks for your coloured print-outs.
Kendriya Bhandar, or the grocery shop is one of the main highlights of the shopping complex. Inaugurated by the former chief minister of delhi, Smt. Shiela Dikshit, it basically caters to the need of the hostellers. A government- aided shop, it sells grocery items and other products of daily use(soap, shampoo, toothpaste, toothbrush, garbage bags, talcum powder etc.) at very reasonable rates. So if you’re a hosteller at NSIT, you needn’t step out of the campus in search of departmental stores for your everyday requirements. The NSIT Kendriya Bhandar wouldn’t disappoint you.
For all those who don’t mind satiating their thirst with a chilled bottle of ‘Banta’, Amul Shop is the place to be. Located adjacent to Babloo Stationery in the shopping complex, this shop offers patties and momos apart from delicious paranthas. Besides an assortment of Amul products, biscuits and chips too are available. Once you’re here, four different flavours of milk shakes : chocolate, banana, strawberry and butterscotch would be a bit hard to resist.
The Drycleaning shop
It shouldn’t come to you as a surprise that the shopping complex is equipped with a shop wherein you can get your clothing ironed and drycleaned, owing to the fully residential campus of NSIT. You don’t need to pinch your pocket to wear a crisp shirt or a well-ironed pair of pants, as all this is done at normal rates. So whenever you have a heap of unironed clothes in your hostel room, worry not! The drycleaning shop will be at your rescue!
When the exams beckon, there are two saviours : The first is Krishna the Lord and the second : Radha Photocopy Shop. This tiny little shop, just next to the admin has enough photocopy machines to entertain a number of frenzied NSITians, who bank upon the photocopied notes of their classmates and batch mates. Radha Photocopy also offers basic stationery items like pens, staplers, scissors, glue and folders. Recharge facility for all networks is also available at this hut-shaped shop. So whenever exams come knocking, chant the name of Krishna and head to Radha photocopy. The good shall be done to you.
